2005! And the 8th year of the Liquid Latex Lounge at Burning Man, Black Rock City, NV. Once again we'll be providing gallons of Deviant™ Liquid Latex (Body Applique/Paint) to the BRC community!  This website was started in 2004 for the purpose of posting the hundreds of photos and other great BM bits and stuff. But, I've had so much going on this year, I've admittedly lagged and neglected the responsibility. There are photos of some earlier previous years here though, and since most of our pictures are just us having a good time as seen through the lens of a $5 disposible camera, you can pretty much look at any photos posted here, imagine the background to be slightly different, and you pretty much have a current photo. The Liquid Latex Lounge is a fun, friendly place for Liquid Latex body painting during the day, and for exploring many of the possibilities of Deviant™ Liquid Latex. It's also a mello place for relaxing, nursing a hangover, getting out of the sun, sipping a drink, or taking a nap. But most importantly, it's a social place to meet a new friend from an old life, meet an old friend for the first time, make a lifetime friend you'll never see again in your life, or maybe one you'll spend the rest of your life with. At the Liquid Latex Lounge... Bring Friends, Make Friends, Leave Friends. And... maybe get them half naked and painted in Latex. An extremely brief history:  In previous years we have been known as the "Deviant Lounge" (originally), then "Deviant Liquid Latex Lounge" and "Deviant Latex Lounge" and such. Originally known as the "Deviant Lounge", it was so named by the people we first camped with 7 years ago. They said to us, "we'd love to camp with you Deviants" because we had JUST started a business called "Deviant". So, they began calling it the "Lounge for Deviants" or "Deviant Lounge". As the manufacturers, we brought Liquid Latex with us in much, much smaller volumes just as a small side attraction. When people started getting really into it, we decided we would have to bring more next time. The Lounge has grown and grown since, now into something of a feature attraction. The "Commercial" Exploitation vs. Due Credits: An important point should be made about the relationship between the Liquid Latex Lounge at BRC, Liquid Latex - the product, and Deviant™, the manufacturer of the product. While we all emphatically support the exclusion of commercialism and name-branding at Burning Man., the Liquid Latex Lounge is possible only because it's almost entirely funded and stocked by Deviant™, the manufacturer of the most recognized Liquid Latex products. But before anyone gets their playa dust all in a whirlwind, read on... For the last several years, the coordination, facilitation, and financing of the Liquid Latex Lounge has beenalmost solely by me, Six. Only minimal help comes from others, since the original camp members haven't been unable to attend and most of the current members are from out of state. Now this blurb isn't meant to toot my own horn, but instead, as a long-winded means of coming to the point that in addition to being the putter-onner of the Liquid Latex Lounge, I'm also the owner of Deviant™. I've worked myself to exhaustion and sacraficed a lot to develop Deviant™products from scratch, build the business from less than zero into its present 8th year, and gain international recognition. Now I'm tooting a little, but the point is that Deviant™ is a proprietorship built from blood, sweat & beers, and I take pride in that name just like photographers take pride when they require print credit, or artists who gain public recognition through promoitional appearances, or musicians who peddle their CDs and merchandise to make a living. So, we'll never sell or actively promote Deviant™ Liquid Latex products on the playa, but the other 355 days of the year, producing, marketing, and selling these products is how I make a living, pay my rent, pay my employees, buy my beer, and (just barely) manage to pay to get to Burning Man and fund the increasingly expensive Liquid Latex Lounge project. you may be interested to know, by the way, that Deviant™ offers year-round 20% discounts to Burners.
